How we got started

Austin Loper knows this feeling all too well. While studying at Michigan State University, he found himself unsatisfied with gum and mints to keep his breath fresh during college classes. He wanted the ultra-refreshing feeling you get from mouthwash without having to carry around clunky travel-sized bottles—the kind you definitely can’t slip into your back pocket when rushing out the door.
He approached his mother, packaging engineer Kari Loper, with an idea to collaborate and create an innovative on-the-go mouthwash brand, and Go Mouthwash was born. Combining Austin’s product development background in the cycling industry and Kari’s decades of engineering expertise, Go Mouthwash was created to give on-the-go individuals a discreet new way to feel fresh all day, whether they’re leading boardrooms, traveling, getting a workout in, or painting the town red.
Its TSA-approved packaging is fully recyclable, and the individual mouthwash packets don’t contain gluten, artificial dyes, colors, or harsh ingredients that can stain clothing if spilled. Along with this, Go Mouthwash is 99.6% alcohol-free and is not—and never will be—tested on animals.

This certification process was created to confirm that a business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women. Go Mouthwash’s co-founder, Kari Loper, sees this as the first step in the company’s steadfast commitment to supporting diversity programs and inspiring young women with bold ambitions in business.
